Dr. Oscar Almeida Jr
Specialty:
OB/GYN
City / Location: Mobile, AL
In 2005, OB-GYN Dr. Oscar Almeida Jr. had his medical license reinstated in Mississippi. Alabama had revoked the license after four female patients complained of various improprieties, including fondling, kissing, inappropriate vaginal exams and his asking a patient to join him in a “threesome.”
Mississippi’s Board of Medical Licensure approved his request, saying the physician “would be an asset to the State of Mississippi” after a Mississippi Professionals Health Program official, Dr. Gary D. Carr, concluded there was “substantial evidence” that the accusations against Almeida were “exaggerated, contrived and coached.”
In 2007, Alabama reinstated his license, saying, “It would be a great loss to the medical community, and to the public in general, if a physician of Dr. Almeida’s obvious skill and ability would never again be able to practice medicine.”
