Dr. Francisco Ampuero

Specialty: OB/GYN

City / Location: Albuquerque, NM

A longtime Albuquerque gynecological oncologist is accused of having sex with a patient and treating an employee “like a prostitute” by forcing her to have sex with him on nights and weekends to keep her job and then requiring her to “clock in” so she would be paid for the time. According to a lawsuit, Ampuero selected patients he would treat based on the woman’s physical characteristics “and would instruct staff to send those patients less desirable (to him)” to other physicians in the practice. According to his former partner (a female gynecologic oncologist who reported him to the New Mexico Medical Board), it was alleged that Ampuero took photos of some patients’ “private parts” during his exams with his cell phone. The medical board continued to let him practice despite those things he did.
